25 Eastmans Road Boonton Electronics unveils world's PRESS RELEASE For Immediate Release Parsippany, NJ, November, 2001 - Boonton Electronics Corporation has announced the release of an enhanced VXI Power Meter, the Model 4730 series. This series of RF power meters includes the industry's first CW power meter with dual channel capability in a VXI configuration. Now, with the ability to sample up to 200 readings per second, the Model 4730 series supplies the industry with two of the fastest VXI power meters in the world. Boonton Electronics' Model 4730 series can be easily integrated into existing ATE systems to meet the needs of both military and commercial applications that require multiple rack configurations. The Model 4730 series can measure CW power on one channel or both, depending on how the user configures the instrument. The Model 4730 series measures power from -70 dBm to +44 dBm and covers 10 kHz to 40 GHz. Its dual channels and built-in math-processing capabilities provide simultaneous input and output power measurement capability, and allow automatic comparisons to be made. Log and linear readouts are available with +/- differences and ratios presented automatically. CW power can be measured by each channel or both, depending on how the user sets up the power meter. Peak power can be calculated by entering the duty cycle. Boonton Electronics has designed the Model 4730 series to emulate a number of power meters. It can be easily integrated into existing ATE systems to meet the needs of military and commercial applications that require multiple rack configurations. All Boonton diode and thermocouple sensors can be utilized with the Model 4730 series, and they can provide an auto-calibration function with the addition of an optional adapter. In addition, the instrument can measure signals over a 90 dB dynamic range using only a single sensor.
