Wireless Telecom Group Introduces the new Boonton 55 Series Wideband USB Power Sensors. Real-Time Power Processing™
Posted March 20, 2013
Parsippany, New Jersey, USA - March 20, 2013 - Boonton, a Wireless Telecom Group company (NYSE: WTT), has added a new platform to its industry standard power meter line, the new 55 Series Wideband USB power sensors. The new line enables high performance, real-time testing of wideband signals up to 40 GHz. Boonton's innovative Real-Time Power ProcessingTM eliminates the acquisition latency associated with traditional peak power meters and sensors, yielding lightning-fast performance in a brand new USB platform. It is ideal for laboratory or field use, for wireless and telecom signals or radar work.
"Advanced modulation schemes and broadband signals created in pursuit of more bandwidth efficient systems have left engineers dealing with complicated waveforms," says Murat Eron, Vice President of Engineering at Wireless Telecom Group. "Not only does the new USB platform enable real-time scrutiny of rapidly changing RF and microwave signals and their statistics, but it delivers improved precision in time and amplitude. It also takes radar testing and pulse amplifier design to a new level."
Boonton's power meters and sensors have been in use in major laboratories around the world for decades and have established the standard for RF power characterization of the fastest pulse and wideband communication signals. The new series includes 6, 18 and 40GHz models which target high performance, real-time power characterization. The small and lightweight units pack signal processing of Boonton's class-leading bench-top meters, enabling pulse measurements of down to 5 nanosecond rise time.
